Back in April, we had this little idea, it wasn’t very original but it would have been cool if something alike existed. Well, now it does, and it’s called Shazam.

You simply launch the app, press a button, hold up your iPhone speaker somewhere near the music, and the application gives you the artist and song back. Ultra-neato, and free to boot!

Most Sony Ericsson phones have this feature built in to it (TrackID). It works for most commercial tunes and I used it on holiday to win a moviesoundtrack quiz at the hotel :)
