Wondering
I wonder why, every time I see an operating system in a TV programme or a film, it doesn’t look anything like the operating systems we are used to see. Even mobile phones tend to have a custom interface, seemingly specifically designed for that programme or film. Is there some sort of law that prohibits placing someone’s products in your work without their approval?
I see people drinking Coca Cola in films. Why don’t I see people using Windows? Why do people bother to design custom UIs for this?
I wrote about it some time ago: http://blog.artueel.be/onrealistisch-internet/ - but it also makes me think “wtf” when seeing unrealistic interfaces or PC usage.
